What Happened: Streaming giant Netflix Inc NFLX is no stranger to docuseries or landing deals with some of the most followed people worldwide such as Michelle and Barack Obama.

On Sept. 18, Netflix premieres a new docuseries with Bill Gates.

Titled "What's Next? The Future With Bill Gates," the docuseries will see the Microsoft co-founder have conversations with some top names about a variety of topics.

"Though no one can see the future, scholars and experts can help us make sense of the defining issues of our time. The right questions can lead us to understanding the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead — just ask Bill Gates," Netflix says of the new series.

The five-episode docuseries will see Gates hold conversations on topics such as climate crisis, deadly diseases, artificial intelligence, income inequality and social media.

"This series covers some of the most relevant and often polarizing topics facing society today," executive producer Morgan Neville said.

Neville called Gates "one of the most curious people" he's met, saying the Microsoft co-founder is still trying to learn on a daily basis.

"I have always loved learning," Gates said. "Whether at school, Microsoft, or now, as a philanthropist, I consider myself a student."

Among the guests who appear on the new docuseries with Gates are Anthony Fauci, Bono, Greg Brockman, James Cameron, Lady Gaga, Mark Cuban, Phoebe Gates, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Mitt Romney.

"Join visionary philanthropist Bill Gates as he delves into pressing global issues and uncovers cutting-edge technologies that will transform the world," a landing page for the Netflix show reads.

The Microsoft co-founder is also the fifth richest person in the world with a wealth of $159 billion as reported by Bloomberg.

With his past experience at Microsoft, a company that is now investing heavily in artificial intelligence, investors and people worldwide could be looking forward to hearing his thoughts and in particular, his conversation with Brockman, who is a co-founder of OpenAI.

Gates is also well known for his work with deadly diseases and vaccines, which could make his conversation with Fauci one of the most anticipated for the series.

Conversations with Cameron, Lady Gaga and others could also point to where AI is headed for entertainment and the role of social media for celebrities.
