Video Display Corporation VIDE today announced that its Cape Canaveral based VDC Display Systems, Inc. has been selected as the supplier of the Video Display Units (VDU) for the U.S. Army Common Driver Training (CDT) by Raydon Corporation of Port Orange, FL.
As part of this effort, VDCDS will provide Raydon with a High Resolution Visual Display System (HRVDS) that meets and exceeds the requirements for CDT systems for Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Variants, MRAP mobile and fixed systems, and Tank Engineering vehicle variants for the Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentations (PEO STRI).
The Visual System, when integrated with RAYDON's Common Driver Trainer system, will be capable of simulating real world scenarios executing mission procedures in a tactical environment under normal and degraded conditions. The CDT system consists of virtual trainers, which will be used to train members of the armed forces in the operation of the combat vehicles being fielded to Fort Leonard Wood, MO and to bases in both Korea and Japan, as well as technical refresh to existing CDT systems fielded throughout the U.S.
