As part of the forthcoming Mental Health Awareness Week, End of Life Psychedelic Care (EOLPC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating psychedelic medicine into end-of-life care, has launched the EOLPC Connector Directory, an online resource that connects terminally ill individuals with practitioners skilled in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Expanding Access To End-Of-Life Care
The directory enables patients and caregivers to access professionals in psychedelic medicine and end-of-life care, providing a path to emotional healing for those facing anxiety, depression and existential distress. “Traditional services don't fully address the emotional and spiritual needs of older adults with terminal illnesses. Psychedelic therapy offers a powerful alternative, helping them find peace and emotional resilience,” said Lisa Ritter, LPC, co-founder of the Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy Association and EOLPC Advisory Board member, referring to the mental health crisis among older adults.
Will Turner Heath, a death doula and EOLPC Board Member, highlighted the importance of accessibility. “I've seen firsthand how people nearing the end can feel abandoned… It's time we step up and provide the care our elders deserve.”
