Blizzard Entertainment has officially confirmed that Diablo 4 will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro, marking the first Microsoft Corp. MSFT-owned game to support Sony's $700 mid-generation console upgrade.
Diablo 4 Joins PS5 Pro Lineup
In a tweet, Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson said: “I’m happy to say that Diablo IV and Vessel of Hatred will indeed be PS5 Pro Enhanced! Very proud of our hardworking team to make this happen. More details at a later date.”
The PS5 Pro, set for release on Nov. 7, offers a range of enhancements, including AI-powered upscaling through PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), designed to boost image clarity and overall gaming performance.
This means players will likely experience smoother frame rates, sharper visuals, and potentially faster load times. Exact details regarding Diablo 4's performance improvements remain under wraps until Blizzard provides more information.
Blizzard's Future On PS5 Pro
Diablo 4 is the first Activision Blizzard title under Microsoft's ownership to be confirmed for PS5 Pro enhancement, but it may not be the last.
With Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard finalized in 2023, fans are particularly curious about the Call of Duty series, with Black Ops 6 being of special interest for PS5 Pro support.
Meanwhile, Diablo 4 remains available through Microsoft's Game Pass service, though it’s notably absent from the platform’s Standard tier.
Players are now waiting to see how the expansion Vessel of Hatred will tie into these developments, with the expansion poised to expand the already vast world of Diablo 4.
Growing List Of PS5 Pro Enhanced Games
Some of the confirmed games for PS5Pro include Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Gran Turismo 7.
These titles are labeled within the PlayStation Store as PS5 Pro Enhanced, making them easily identifiable for players seeking the best performance.
