Trump's Niece Says Ex-President's Potential Cognitive Impairment Signs Overlooked: 'He's Decompensating Before Our Eyes'

Republican nominee Donald Trump’s niece and psychologist Mary Trump said on Tuesday that the corporate media is turning a blind to her uncle’s “mendacity” and “bigotry” as well as a host of his “egregious” things.

What Happened: Donald Trump’s “horrors” instead of being additive, each new transgression replaces the one that came before, therefore, somehow canceling it out, said Mary Trump in a substack post.

When President Joe Biden was in the race, the relentless coverage of every one of his missteps “overshadowed the fact that his opponent spent the entire debate lying, engaging in delusional conspiracy theories, and promoting his fascist agenda,” Mary Trump said. Following Biden’s exit, Donald Trump is now the oldest person in American history ever to run for the presidency, she said.

“It seems not to matter that he can’t pronounce words or stay on topic, or that he engages in a worrisome degree of tangential thinking,” Mary Trump, who is also a podcaster and author said. “All of these are potential signs of cognitive impairment, but none of it engages the sustained attention of the media.”

Trump Campaign did not immediately respond to Benzinga's request for comment.

To make her case, she noted her uncle attended a Town Hall in Pennsylvania where he took pre-selected questions from a vetted audience but had to wound up midway through due to medical emergencies. The ex-president asked “who the hell wants to hear questions?” at an event in which a candidate is supposed to answer people’s questions, she said.

Donald Trump then asked for music to be played and “stood on the stage, listened to an odd mix of songs, sometimes swinging his body around, sometimes standing stock still, on occasion mouthing the lyrics, and mostly seeming lost, broken, and beyond reach,” his niece noted.

“In what universe would it be reasonable to conclude that watching Donald Trump decompensate while listening to canned music would be ‘more enjoyable’ for anybody,” the psychologist asked. “He’s decompensating before our eyes,” she said.

Why It’s Important: Donald Trump is facing Vice President and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the general election scheduled for Nov. 5. The vice president managed to make all the right noises in the early days of her campaign when she replaced Biden on the Democratic ticket, thereby wiping away the deficit Biden ran up against Donald Trump.

She gained further ground following the only presidential debate held between the two but has fallen back of late, with just under three weeks to go for the election.

A poll by Harvard CAPS Harris poll conducted between Oct. 11-13 showed Harris being ahead of her rival by merely a point and the latter pulling to a lead in the battleground states.
