The Shiba Inu SHIB/USD ecosystem announced an exclusive airdrop of its newly launched meme coin Shifu (SHIFU) on Monday to reward its loyal community members.
What Happened: “According to a post on the official Shiba Inu account, anyone holding 100,000 SHIB tokens and 100 Bubble (BUBBLE) tokens—the native cryptocurrency of the Imaginary Ones ecosystem, with which Shiba Inu launched the meme coin—will have access to approximately 22% of the supply
Additionally, 4% of the supply would be reserved for holders of Shib Games, Doge Killer (LEASH), Bone ShibaSwap BONE/USD, and Shiboshi & Sheboshi non-fungible tokens.
Moreover, 4% of the supply would be set aside for participants of the Imaginary Ones Carnival & NFTs.
Why It Matters: SHIFU was the latest entrant to the expanding ecosystem of Shiba Inu, with Shytoshi Kusama, the project’s mysterious lead, actively working with Kaal Dhairya, another key figure of the ecosystem, and the Imaginary Ones team to set it in motion.
Imaginary Ones is a blockchain-based platform that uses digital art, gaming, and NFTs to create an interactive ecosystem.
A cryptocurrency airdrop is a marketing stunt in which a blockchain project sends free tokens to user wallets, mostly to existing users, to promote the spread of the new cryptocurrency.
Price Action: Shiba Inu tokens responded with varying degrees to the development. SHIB, the major meme currency, dropped 2.3% in the last 24 hours, BONE slipped 0.9%, while LEASH rallied 6.6% according to data from Benzinga Pro.
