AMCOL International ACO announced Wednesday an agreement with to be acquired by Imerys IMYSF for $41 per share in cash. AMCOL is a producer and marketer of diverse specialty materials. The deal is expected to close in H1 2014. AMCOL closed Wednesday at $41.24, a gain of 12%. Wabtec to Acquire Fandstan for $215M in Cash The Rumor:
Wabtec WAB has agreed to acquire rail and industrial equipment manufacturer, Fandstan Electric Group, for approximately $215 million in cash. The deal is expected to be completed in Q1 2014. Wabtec closed Wednesday at $74.48, a gain of 1.5%. Grupo Bimbo to Acquire Canada Bread from Maple Leaf The Deal:
Grupo Bimbo GRBMF announced Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Canada Bread CBDLF in a transaction valued at C$1.83 billion. Maple Leaf currently owns 90% of the shares of Canada Bread. The deal is expected to close in Q2 2014. Retrophin to Acquire Manchester Pharmaceuticals for $62.5M The Deal:
Retrophin RTRX announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire privately-held specialty pharmaceutical company Manchester Pharmaceuticals for $62.5 million, including an upfront payment of $29.5 million, plus royalties based on product sales. The deal is expected to close by March 1, 2014. Retrophin closed Wednesday at $10.68 and traded over $12.00, after-hours.
