Fertilizer Stocks Rally On BHP's Takeover Bid For Potash (BHP, POT, MOS, AGU, CF)

The fertilizer complex is surging today after BHP Billiton BHP made an unsolicited $130 per share takeover bid for Potash POT. Potash's board has rejected the bid as "grossly inadequate," and POT shares have surged 25% to $140.19. Other names are on the move as well, including Mosaic MOS, Agrium AGU, and CF Industries CF. Mosaic (MOS) shares have risen 8.39% to $55.42. Agrium (AGU) has surged 5.65% to $69.59 and CF has added 6.53% to $90.11.
