Standpoint Research Downs MOT, Ups ANF

Analysts at Standpoint Research downgrade Motorola MOT from "buy" to "hold." The analysts say, “As for Motorola – this is a rare instance where we are closing out a position with a loss – we usually ride losers until they go back in favor. MOT was recommended at $8.98 on November 9, 2009 along with CROX and F (recommended on the same day). MOT has jumped 29% off its January 29 intra-day low and is now fairly valued at > 14X estimates for 2011.” Analysts at Standpoint Research upgrade Abercrombie ANF from "hold" to "accumulate." The target price for ANF is set to $47. “ANF has under-performed the S&P-500 by 1500 bps….this is the right time to upgrade the name following an over-reaction to bad news earlier this week.” the analysts mention. Analysts at Standpoint Research initiate coverage of Symantec SYMC with a "buy" rating. The target price for SYMC is set to $19. According to Standpoint Research, “SYMC looks like the slam-dunk in this group of recommendations.” Analysts at Standpoint Research initiate coverage of The Gap GPS with a "buy" rating. The target price for GPS is set to $25. The analysts add, “As for GPS … that name ranked # 17 out of 800 names according to our 155-variable computer model (Russell-1000 report from August 3, 2010), and passes our subjective and fundamental overlays.” More Analyst Ratings here
