Southwest Airlines Co. LUV has selected Tom Doxey to succeed Tammy Romo as its next Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, starting March 10.

Doxey comes with extensive expertise in aviation finance, operations, and strategic change. Doxey most recently served as President of Breeze Airways, where he successfully led the airline through its transformation from a new venture to a profitable entity in less than two years.

During his tenure, Breeze Airways introduced a loyalty program, a co-branded credit card and optimized its fleet, all while becoming the largest NCAA basketball charter operator in the country, per the company’s statement.

Prior to Breeze, Tom Doxey has also held senior leadership positions at United Airlines Holdings Inc, including Senior Vice President of Technical Operations and CFO of Operations.

In these roles, he managed teams handling maintenance, supply chain, and engineering, overseeing a $5 billion budget.

Doxey also played a key role in leading fleet transactions, managing aircraft storage programs during the pandemic, and overseeing planning efforts for United’s $18 billion operations budget.

“Tom’s expertise in financial planning, fleet management, and operational leadership makes him a tremendous asset to our Executive Team as we drive progress on our transformational plan,” said Bob Jordan, President, Chief Executive Officer, & Vice Chairman of the Board at Southwest Airlines.

Recently Southwest reported fourth-quarter operating revenue that grew 1.6% year-over-year to $6.931 billion with an adjusted earnings per share of $0.56.

The company’s quarterly revenue growth was fueled by robust demand, improvements in revenue management, marketing advancements, and enhanced network optimization.

Price Action: LUV shares closed lower by 2.81% at $30.13 on Monday.
