Top 5 Percentage Gainers On NYSE (NZ, PAR, CML, MXL, GBX)

Shares of anything having to do with cloud computing lately have been on fire, and today is no different. These are the top 5 stocks based on a percentage gain today on the NYSE (volume must be over 100,000). Shares of Netezza Corporation Common NZ are up a staggering 36.9% to $20.43 after the company reported much better than expected earnings yesterday, and upped its full year outlook. Volume is particularly strong today, trading over 10 million shares, more than ten times the daily volume. Shares of 3PAR PAR continue to surge today, gaining $6.14 to $32.17 after the ongoing merger battle for the company continues. This morning, Dell DELL announced it had raised its bid on the company to $27 per share, matching Hewlett-Packard's HPQ offer. Minutes before the opening bell, HPQ announced it had raised its bid to $30 per share. Compellent Technologies Inc. CML is gaining 15.6% to trade at $17.24, good for a gain of $2.33. This comes as CML is subject to takeover rumors on back of the 3PAR bidding war. Volume is particularly strong, having traded 2.1 million shares today. MaxLinear, Inc MXL is up 16.6% to $12.13. This is good for a gain of $1.73 per share. MaxLinear, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, provides integrated, radio-frequency (RF) analog and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for broadband communications applications primarily in the United States. The last company is not technology related, but more of an old world company. Shares of Greenbrier Companies, Inc. GBX are up 9.4% today to $11.49 on 20% higher volume than normal. The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets railroad freight car equipment in the United States, Mexico, and Poland.
