Top 10 Most Binged Programs

TiVo TIVO Media Research, along with Albert Fried, recently conducted a 15,000-person survey.

The results from that survey showed that, perhaps unsurprisingly, about 91 percent of respondents binge watch television.

Albert Fried released a note Wednesday that listed the top 10 most popular binge-watched programs. The platforms included Netflix NFLX, Amazon Prime, HBO Go and Hulu, along with DVR and digital downloads

Interestingly, AMC Networks AMC had the most among the list with three shows.

1. Breaking Bad - 35 percent of respondents

The 10-time Emmy award winner ran for 62 episodes over five seasons. The show set cable rating records toward the end of its original run, and has been considered one of the greatest shows of all time.

2. House Of Cards - 29 percent

The Netflix original has been groundbreaking for the streaming service. The first season earned three Emmy awards, a first for an online-only service. Its second season debuted in February to high anticipation, with a third season on the way in 2015.

3. Game Of Thrones - 25 percent

The HBO original has run for four seasons and 40 episodes, with more on the way. Based on the popular book series, the show’s critical success has risen each season. The show has also been a monstrous success on Twitter.

4. The Walking Dead - 24 percent

The second AMC show on the list. Not the critical darling of its network contemporaries, but the zombie drama has been a massive ratings hit. More than 16 million viewers tuned in for the season four premiere, a basic cable record.

5. Downton Abbey - 23 percent

The British period drama has given PBS a big lift. It has run 34 episodes over four years, though critical praise has recently subsided.

6. Star Trek - 20 percent

The ranking listed “any version” of the sci-fi cult hit, which would amount to 726 different episodes.

7. Homeland - 19 percent

With just 36 episodes over three seasons, this Showtime original is the newest non-Netflix show on the list. Claire Danes has received three Emmy awards for her work as lead actress.

8. Mad Men - 18 percent

The one that changed the game. Since appearing in the summer of 2007, Mad Men has changed AMC, cable and broadcast television forever. It has 85 episodes to its credit, with one final season on the way.

As Don Draper has become a household name, Mad Men at one time won four straight Emmys for outstanding drama series. Both the streak and total trophies are tied for a record.

9. Doctor Who - 18 percent

This British series originally ran from 1963 to 1989, but made a comeback beginning in 2005.

10. NCIS - 14 percent

The only network program to make the list, NCIS has been a ratings darling for much of its 11-season run. The CBS original has been the most-watched scripted television program since 2009.
