Browning Takes Over As Volkswagen CEO

Jonathan Browning has been appointed as Volkswagen AG's VLKAY new US operations head. Browning replaced Stefan Jacoby after he left the organization to take over as CEO of Volvo Cars. Volkswagen had got Jonathan on board in June to handle the German carmaker's national sales companies across the world. Prior to joining Volkswagen, Browning held executive positions at General Motors Co and Ford Motor Company F. The German carmaker said in a statement that it hopes to " play an even stronger role in the important US market going forward." Volkswagen board member Christian Klingler restated the company's aim to sell 200,000 Audi brand vehicles in 2018 in addition to 800,000 Volkswagens, promising to make Audi and Volkswagen the leading brands in the US market.
