Stocks Bid Higher at Kickoff

Wall Street started the new trading week with cautious gains at Monday's open as the markets continue their bullish September mood. Today's Markets As of 9:32 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 21.66 points, or 0.19%, to 10629.50, the Standard & Poor's 500 gained 2.44 points, or 0.22%, to 1128.03 and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 5.06 points, or 0.22%, to 2320.65. The consumer-friendly FOX 50 added 2.00 points, or 0.25%, to 812.49. The latest gains didn't appear to be built on any new significant developments, but Wall Street did receive support from earnings beats from Discover Financial DFS and home builder Lennar LEN.
