Alibaba Group Holding Ltd's Jack Ma 'Interested' In Amazon.com, Inc. Joint Venture

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd's BABA Jack Ma spoke with Bloomberg and Emily Chang Friday and was asked about Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN and Yahoo! Inc. YHOO.

When asked if he thought an acquisition of Yahoo was possible, Ma laughed, and said, "I don't know if they would sell," adding, "I think the very important thing is that we want to build up a company, not the buying company. We want to make sure that our ecosystem helps the small guys. Anything that can help the small business grow we will consider."

Additionally, Chang asked Ma if he's open to an Amazon joint venture. At its current market price, Alibaba's market capitalization of $230 billion is about 50 percent larger than Amazon's.

"I would be interested in talking [to Amazon] because as always anything, anybody that involving helping small business we will feel excited."
