Mosaic MOS came out this morning and lowered guidance on third quarter potash and phosphate sales, citing increased input costs from higher sulfur and ammonia, coupled with weakened demand.
Mosaic will focus on maintaining margins and controlling inventory during the seasonally slow period leading up to spring plantings. The company also sees a disconnect between lower crop prices and higher input costs,
Shares of MOS are lower by 2.53 percent at 44.27. Potash POT shares are also down today, falling 1.60 percent at 34.44. Agrium AGU is also showing weakness, off 0.79 percent at 88.80.
