Unilever Plc's Indian unit Hindustan Unilever reported an 8% rise in its second-quarter net profit.
Hindustan Unilever's quarterly standalone net profit climbed to 9.88 billion rupees ($161 million), compared to 9.14 billion rupees, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were projecting a net profit of 9.88 billion rupees. During the quarter, Hindustan Unilever posted an exceptional gain of 487 million rupees.
Its total income climbed 10.83% to 76.39 billion rupees, versus 68.93 billion rupees. Net sales rose 10.6% to 74.66 billion rupees from 67.47 billion rupees.
Its operating margin came in at16.3% in the quarter, while EBITDA came in at 1,242 crore rupees.
