Update On Some Stocks From The Value Investing Congress

The Value Investing Congress provided many interesting stock picks from various fund managers, and this provides an update on some of the stocks mentioned and how they've done since the conference. The St. Joe Company JOE is probably the most notable pick to come from the conference, as David Einhorn said he was short the stock. He believes it has a fair value of around $7-$10 per share. The stock was at $24.44 before Einhorn, and at last check, shares were at $20.97. This is good for a gain of 14% on the Einhorn short call. BP BP was a company mentioned by Whitney Tilson. Tilson said he has been long the stock since around $26, and at the end of the conference on Wednesday, it closed at $41.41. At last check, shares were at $41.50, a gain of 9 cents since Tilson mentioned it. Another pick was Owens-Illinois, Inc. OI, which was mentioned by Alexander Roeper. Roeper saw fair value at $45 per share, and it closed Wednesday's trading at $27.23. Last tick on the company was $29.31. This is a gain of $2.08 since Wednesday.
