CRM is buying the rest of salesforce.com Japan it doesn't already own, from stockholders and venture capitalists.
It's paying around $170 million for the 27% of the subsidiary.
In a statement, CRM said, "acquiring full ownership in Salesforce Japan allows Salesforce.com to further benefit from the growth in the Japanese cloud computing market and integrate and align its financial and operational functions."
Shares of CRM gained $3.20 today to close at $115.06, a gain of nearly 3%.
