Afternoon Market Update (HAR, ALK, RYAAY, JBLU, DAL, CGNX)

Shares of Harman International Industries Inc HAR surged about 15% after the company swung to FQ1 profit. The company's net income from continuing operations came in at $0.35 per share, compared with a net loss from continuing operations of $0.08 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's sales jumped 12% y/y to $837 million. US Airline stocks moved up with Alaska Air ALK and Ryanair Holdings RYAAY as the top gainers in the list. However, the shares of JetBlue Airways JBLU and Delta Air Lines DAL were slightly down. The benchmark NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) gained about 0.4%. Shares of Cognex Corp CGNX advanced about 11% after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 results and issued upbeat projections for the current period.
