Jim Cramer: Ford Gains, Retailer Spending, And Not Freaking Out About Cotton

“I don't want to freak out about cotton,” Jim Cramer said during an early afternoon report on CNBC. “Why? Maybe it's cause everyone else is.” With regard to specific companies, Cramer said that he isn't too worried about how the cotton issues could affect Columbia Sportswear Company COLM, which was recently downgraded. He said that it's better to know what is hurting a company than it is to have a question mark hanging over our heads. More importantly, Cramer added that you can always plant more cotton next year. Cramer also spoke briefly about Ford Motor Company F, who he believes has a lot to gain as Toyota Motor Corporation TM loses market share. Meanwhile, with positive sales in major retailers like Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation RL, Cramer said that while it's proof that the rich are spending, we shouldn't forget that the money trickles down.
