Where's The Best Place To Work In America?

  • Jobs and recruiting site, Glassdoor, recently published its "Best Places to Work" 2016 list.
  • Alphabet Inc GOOGL GOOG, which ranked first last year, fell to the eighth spot in the list, trailing other Internet giants like Facebook Inc FB and LinkedIn Corp LNKD.
  • Interestingly, the best place to work was short-term house rental site Airbnb.
  • Each year since 2008, Glassdoor distributes its employees' Choice Awards. Based solely on employee feedback, these awards honor companies and leaders around the world, covering several categories including best places to work and highest rated CEOs.

    Last year, employees selected Google as the best place to work. However, this year things have changed, and Airbnb was the number one ranked company, with a score of 4.6 out of 5. Employees pointed out the company’s culture, growth opportunities and perks, among other positives.
