According to a report by DigiTimes, at least 2 of Apple Inc. AAPL's key suppliers have started to book production capacity and their foundry and backend partners.
DigiTimes, citing "industry sources," reported that Cirrus Logic, Inc. CRUS and Analog Devices, Inc. ADI have both requested their foundry and backend service providers reserve a "significant portion of their production capacities" in the second and third quarter.
DigiTimes added that both Cirrus Logic and Analog Devices will "play a key role" in the "brand new" design of Apple's upcoming iPhone 7 device. The new iPhone is expected to be slimmer and equipped without a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The publication's sources also said that Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd. (ADR) TSM will "grab most of or probably all orders" for Apple's A10 processors.
