SolarCity May Layoff Workers In Buffalo, Report Claims

Shares of SolarCity Corp SCTY dipped into negative territory Friday afternoon following reports that the company is looking to downsize its headcount at a production facility in Buffalo, New York. According to Time Warner Cable News Buffalo, a "source" at SolarCity's facility said that layoffs have occurred and workers are being warned of further layoffs. The news source also noted that the Buffalo Building & Construction Trades Council is aware of payments being late for some subcontractors at the work site, but the organization is not aware of who is responsible or how much is affected. One of SolarCity's subcontractors, American Rated Cable and Communications, said it is still waiting to be paid for work done, but a spokesperson added that there are no concerns about not getting the money. In the meantime, the project remains on schedule.
