The Return Of The King

Howard Stern has announced that he will stay a further five years at Sirius SIRI, as the "King of all Media's" contract was scheduled to run out at the end of the month. Many were speculating he'd leave Sirius and perhaps revolutionize internet radio, but that's not going to be the case. There's no word on the dollar amount of the contract Stern and his show signed, but some details are starting to emerge. The Howard Stern Show will appear on Sirius's smartphone apps for the Android and iOS devices, which are owned by Google GOOG and Apple AAPL respectively. Stern will work four days a week in the first part of his contract, then it will fall to three days per week in the coming years as his retirement nears. Shares of Sirius, are up around 5% in pre-market trading on this news.
