Latest In Radware Takeover Speculation (RDWR)

Radware RDWR continues to trade higher on takeover speculation following a Globes article from an Israeli news daily. In that article, Globes mentioned the possibility of a $1B acquisition by HP HPQ or IBM IBM. Today, Globes provided updated thoughts in another article saying, "It appears that there is a sort of auction process around the acquisition of Radware, between the giant companies that are expressing interest in the company's technology - Cisco, IBM, HP, and maybe also Riverbed, Dell, and Juniper." In the article today, writer Shlomi Cohen urges Check Point Software Technologies' CHKP CEO Gil Shwed to "rise to the challenge" and buy Radware. Cohen thinks that establishing an Israeli empire of network security and optimization for the future realm of cloud computing would be in Check Point's best interest. Shares of Radware are currently trading in erratic movements, relatively unchanged from yesterday's close. Radware is up over 150% in 2010.
