Afternoon Market Update

US energy stocks gained, with the NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI) rising about 0.60%. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG) rose about 0.17%, while the Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX) moved up around 1.29%. Shares of Huntington Bancshares Inc HBAN fell about 3% after the bank announced the pricing of its offering of $920 million shares. HBAN priced its offering at $6.30, less than Monday's closing price of $6.66 per share. The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) rose about 0.29%. Gold futures moved down, after stronger-than-expected US economic reports on retail sales and wholesale prices. Gold for February delivery were at $1,399 an ounce.
