Kroger Company Recalls Various Cat And Dog Foods (KR)

Grocery store operator Kroger Company KR announced on Saturday that it is recalling a number of pet food products sold under the brand names of Pet Pride, Old Yeller and Kroger Value from its stores in 19 states because the products might contain aflatoxin, which can cause serious illness and even death to pets if consumed. The Kroger Company said that it is using its Customer Recall Notification system, which uses cash register receipt tape and automated phone calls, to alert customers who may have purchased the recalled products. Included in this recall are Kroger Company (KR) stores in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. The recall also includes Dillons and Gerbes stores in Kansas and Missouri; Baker's stores in Nebraska; Food 4 Less stores in Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana (Chicago area); and Jay C, Hilander, Owen's, Pay Less and Scott's stores in Illinois and Indiana.
