Tech stocks rose, along with the wider market. The top gainers included Apple Inc. AAPL, Adobe Systems Inc ADBE, and Google Inc GOOG. The top decliner in the list was Netflix Inc NFLX. The Nasdaq Composite Index (COMP) gained about 0.24%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX) rose around 0.04%. US drug stocks traded mixed today. Shares of GenVec Inc GNVC gained about 5% after the company announced its plans to collaborate with Merial, a producer of vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease, to develop a vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease. The NYSE Arca Pharmaceutical Index (DRG) gained about 0.27%, while the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (BTK) fell about 0.30%. Shares of RightNow Technologies Inc RNOW gained about 14% after analysts at Piper Jaffray upgraded RNOW from “neutral” to “overweight.” The target price for RNOW is set to $26. Gold gained along with silver futures on Wednesday. Gold for February delivery gained 0.51% to $1,413 an ounce. March silver rose about 1.13%.
