CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - August 7, 2009) - BookRenter.com, students' favorite textbook rental company, will kick off the 2009-2010 back-to-school season one month from today by helping students at more than 3,000 colleges rent textbooks online for a fraction of campus bookstore prices. As students approach the first day of class on September 8, they will rest assured that BookRenter is there to help them make education more affordable.
Created in 2006, in response to BookRenter founder Colin Barceloux's own frustrating experience with the campus bookstore's approach to business and pricing, BookRenter set out to develop a more affordable alternative to high textbook costs. Students choose a textbook from over one million titles, rent it for 75% less than the bookstore price, and receive it on their doorstep in as few as 1-2 business days. At the end of the rental period, ranging from 30-125 days, students simply send their textbooks back with the pre-paid shipping label provided online by BookRenter.
To encourage early textbook orders, BookRenter is happy to announce a new "Early Renter Guarantee," for students already planning their textbook rentals. The guarantee will give students renting books for 125 days (a semester long rental) an automatic extension to make their due date December 24, 2009. By locking into a due date of December 24th, students are ensured to have their books until the end of class and finals.
"BookRenter's services have made my education so much more affordable," said Latonia Simmons of Florida Community College at Jacksonville. "I love renting the textbooks and sending them back and all of the books have been in excellent condition."
Renting books from BookRenter saves the average student up 75% off traditional campus bookstore prices or approximately $500 a year on textbook costs. And leading up to the first class day and throughout the school year, students can also find BookRenter on Twitter, at @Rent_Textbooks and @BookRenterDeals, to find online coupons, daily price specials and great deals on specific book titles.
"We have always been committed to delivering the best quality textbooks at affordable and accessible prices, to every student, one book at a time," said Mehdi Maghsoodnia, CEO of BookRenter. "Our growth, up 750% over last year, is testament that our approach is working, and certainly that the solution we deliver is widely needed."
