By 11:00 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 51.92 points, or 0.45%, to 11,689.37, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 5.46 points, or 0.43%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 8.58 points, or 0.32%.
Some of the narrow based indexes driving the markets are Copper Stocks, which have gained 3.6%, Chinese Auto Parts Stocks, up 3.1%, and Platinum and Palladium Stocks, moving 2.8% higher as a group.
In Tickerspy's Copper complex, Taseko Mines Ltd TGB had surged 14.4%. TGB projected its copper production at Gibraltar mine to rise in 2011.
The best performing Tickerspy Chinese Auto Parts stock has been China Automotive Systems Inc CAAS, which was up 6.5%. CAAS' PEG ratio is 0.62.
Stillwater Mining Company SWC is today's leading Tickerspy's Platinum and Palladium stock, gaining 4.7%. SWC's trailing-twelve-month revenue is $513.03 million.
