Shares of Delta Airlines DAL dropped about 5.5% after the company reported its Q4 earnings at $0.02 per share, compared with a loss of $0.03 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time charges, Delta reported its earnings at $0.19 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.25 per share. DAL's total operating revenue increased 14% y/y to $7.79 billion. DAL's capacity increased 7% in the same period. Shares of Sterling Bancshares Inc SBIB surged about 16.5% after Comerica Inc CMA announced its plans to buy all the outstanding shares of SBIB in a stock-for-stock deal for about $1.03 billion. "The strategic acquisition accelerates Comerica's growth in Texas and maintains Comerica's capital strength," the two companies said. CMA shares were down about 8% following the news. Shares of TD Ameritrade Holdings Corp AMTD gained about 0.7% after the company reported its FQ1 profit at $0.25 per share, up from $0.23 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's revenue increased to $656.2 million, from $624.6 million, in the year-ago quarter. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.25 on revenue of $647.81 million. Shares of Convergys Corp CVG advanced about 6.4% after analysts at Baird upgraded the stock. Baird upgraded CVG from “neutral” to “outperform.” Shares of Convergys have surged 17.31% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 13.84% in the same period.
