This Porn Site Is Offering A $25,000 'Bug Bounty' – And It's Not What You Might Imagine

Pornhub, the largest porn site on the Internet – boasting roughly 60 million visitors per diem, is offering a Bug Bounty, but it’s not what it sounds like.

What Is Bug Bounty?

Bug bounties are pretty popular in the tech world. They are open deals incentivizing people to try find bugs and vulnerabilities in sites and software products. Those who can spot them, usually receive cash compensations and, in some occasions, even job offers.

In exchange, developers get to discover and fix the bugs before the public sees them or, even worse, hackers get to them. In recent years, large companies like Facebook Inc FB and Alphabet Inc GOOGGOOGL have gone for these programs - with great results.

So, I Can Make $25K Watching Porn?

On Tuesday, pornhub.com launched a bug bounty program aimed at spotting security vulnerabilities in its site. However, making 25 grand is not as easy as just scrolling through videos. Finding problems requires focused, attentive scrutiny.

Only “the first person to responsibly disclose an unknown issue” will receive compensation, the company explained. Rewards go from $50 to $25,000, depending on the gravity of the reported problem. But take note, the site will only make payments via HackerOne. Check out the full set of rules here.

Since Pornhub started with its bounty program last year – first as a private beta, 23 reports have been processed and solved.
