Top Narrow Based Indexes For January 24 (CLDA, LDK, GXDX)

By 11:05 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 57.48 points, or 0.48%, to 11,929.32, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 3.50 points, or 0.27%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 10.45 points, or 0.39%. Some of the narrow based indexes driving the markets are Genetic Analysis Stocks, which have gained 4.6%, Chinese Solar Stocks, up 3.8%, and Medical Labs and Diagnostic Services Stocks, moving 2.6% higher as a group. In Tickerspy's Genetic Analysis complex, Clinical Data Inc CLDA had surged 59.2%. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the CLDA's depression drug Viibryd. The best performing Tickerspy Chinese Solar stock has been LDK Solar Co Inc LDK, which was up 8.2%. LDK's PEG ratio is 0.31. Genoptix Inc GXDX is today's leading Tickerspy's Medical Labs and Diagnostic Services stock, gaining 25.7%. Novartis AG NVS announced its plans to buy GXDX for $470 million, or $25 per share, representing a 39% premium over GXDX's share value on December 13, 2010. Read more from Benzinga's Markets.
