BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

A 60 percent majority of SAP SE SAP customers wouldn't buy SAP solutions again according to a new analysis by Nucleus Research. And in SAP's core market of ERP, nine out of 10 customers say they are not considering a future investment in SAP's S/4HANA solution.

"This should be a wake up call for SAP. The company is still playing catch up on cloud computing and has yet to deliver a vision that satisfies its customer base. Brand recognition and magic quadrants are not enough to address negative customer experiences. SAP needs to focus more on customer concerns than marketing taglines," said Ian Campbell, CEO of Nucleus Research.

To better understand the current and future reality for SAP customers, Nucleus conducted in-depth interviews with more than 40 SAP customers, including many of the company's own references. Nucleus further analyzed the data from more than 200 customers that had evaluated SAP as a potential vendor over the past few months. This included CRM, ecommerce, ERP, HCM, collaboration and analytics solutions.

SAP has been a heavyweight in the enterprise software space and, like many of its traditional competitors, has been slow to move to the cloud. Initially SAP gained cloud capabilities mostly through acquisition (SuccessFactors, Hybris, Concur) and more recently has added some organic product development (SAP Cloud for Analytics).
