A Huge Twitter Bull Makes His Case

Twitter Inc TWTR's fall from grace has been well-documented. It was only one month ago that the stock dropped to an all-time low of $14.02, and Wall Street sentiment seems to be getting more and more bearish every day.

Despite that negativity, Quantum Trading Strategies CIO Sean Udall continues to pound his fists on the table about Twitter’s potential.

Udall, who specializes in tech stocks, went on Benzinga’s PreMarket Prep Thursday morning to make his case for the social media dog.

“I think the biggest thing with Twitter that people miss is sometimes the market just gets it wrong. If not sometimes, a lot of the time,” Udall said.

“There’s been lots of times in history when a promising stock starts off great, has a bad period, and then is a world beater for five or ten or fifteen years. I think the key things in Twitter that people miss is still there’s massive hatred with [CEO Jack] Dorsey. If you actually look pretty much since his 30th day [...] everything that everybody said Twitter needs to improve has pretty much been improved one thing at a time,” he said.

Udall did note that Twitter needs to make some changes that would make it similar to Flipboard, in which users should be able to follow subject matters and not just specific user accounts. “Aside from that, all of their ‘supposed fatal flaws’ have pretty much been fixed one by one.”

Udall’s faith in Twitter’s usefulness is ultimately the engine behind his stance. He noted that the same “foundational shift” that led Google (Alphabet Inc GOOG GOOGL) over Yahoo! Inc. YHOO and mobile over desktop could make help people who want “to get smarter and more informed [...] and use a really good product like Twitter instead of having a product that doesn’t contain as good information.”

“The bottom line is I think there’s a lot more upside. I still think Twitter could be a $100 billion market cap.”
