Fox Becomes First Broadcast Network To Launch Streaming Of Programming Live

With services like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue showing a market for the live streaming of TV channels,
Twenty-First Century Fox IncFOXFOXA
is ready to make a play for those same viewers.

Beginning Monday night with Fox's long-running "So You Think You Can Dance," the network became the first of the broadcasters to offer live streaming of its prime-time programming. Interested viewers can tune in via a variety of options including Fox.com and the network's FOX NOW app across various platforms.

Fox has also made it clear this isn't just a summer stunt, and the live-stream will continue into the fall and beyond when the networks launches its new fall offerings including "Lethal Weapon" and "Pitch." In total, 98 percent of customers across over 200 markets will have access to the simulcast.

Fox already provides a similar service for live sports programming via FOX Sport Go.
