Metlife Reports Q4 EPS of $1.14 vs. $1.10

MetLife, Inc. MET today reported fourth quarter 2010 net income of $51 million, or $0.05 per share, and operating earnings1 of $1.2 billion, or $1.14 per share. Derivative losses drove most of the difference between net income and operating earnings in the fourth quarter of 2010. MetLife today also reported full year 2010 net income of $2.7 billion, or $3.00 per share. Operating earnings for the full year 2010 were $3.9 billion, or $4.38 per share.
