Hasbro Inc HAS EPS and revenue came in above the estimates.
The company reported net income of $257.8 million, or $2.03 per share, for the third quarter. This is higher than the year-ago quarter's profit of $207.6 million, or $1.64 per share. Street analysts' expected the company to deliver EPS of $1.74.
Hasbro's total revenue grew 14 percent from $1.47 billion to $1.68 billion and came in above the analysts' estimates of $1.56 billion.
Chairman, President and CEO, Brian Goldner, commented, "Innovative play experiences, engaging storytelling and global execution of Hasbro's Brand Blueprint continues to drive consumer and retailer demand for our brand portfolio. 2016 has been a strong year, including our third quarter – which marked the greatest revenue and earnings quarter in Hasbro's history. We are well positioned for what we believe will be a good holiday season."
Following the results, the stock jumped $2.59, or 3.40 percent, to $78.75 in the pre-market trading on Monday.
