The 2017 North American International Auto Show kicks off this week from Detroit, Michigan. Thousands of auto journalists gathered at Detroit's Cobo Hall, where the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle Of The Year were awarded.
Car: General Motors Company GM's Chevy Bolt EV
Chevrolet recently won in 2014 with the Corvette Stingray.
Truck: Honda Motor Co Ltd (ADR) HMC's Ridgeline
After winning the award in 2006, the Ridgeline was put on a production hiatus in 2014.
Utility: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV FCAU's Chrysler Pacifica
2017 marks the second time a minivan has won the award, with Fiat Chrysler U.S. minivans also receiving the honor in 1996.
The three finalists in each category were chosen from a list of 15 cars, 11 utilities and four pickups in November. Those models on the short list were narrowed down from a larger list in the fall.
