Brustin and Lundblad, Ltd. Receive $9.5 Million Dollar Jury Verdict

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Brustin and Lundblad, Ltd. of Chicago, last night received a jury verdict in the amount of $9.5 million dollars, (reduced by 1/3rd for plaintiffs’ comparative negligence to $6.35 million) for a Chicago area construction laborer, who was 20 years old at the time of the accident.

Brustin and Lundblad, Ltd. contended that the laborer was injured as a result of inadequate fall protection, namely the absence of a proper mid-rail, which failed to stop the worker’s fall from a scaffold when he tripped, resulting in his fractured hip and low back herniated disc. The worker had multiple surgeries and is unable to return to work in his previous capacity as a laborer for bricklayers.

Prior to the trial the defense refused to make any offer.

Tried by Marvin A. Brustin and Milo W. Lundblad
