Outside of Apple AAPL, Oracle ORCL is the best large-cap technology stock on the planet. Last night the company released its fiscal Q3 earnings results, and it was another great quarter from the Larry Ellison led enterprise software giant.
The company reported adjusted net income of $2.8 billion, or $0.54 per share, compared to $1.9 billion, or $0.38 per share, in the year ago quarter. This came in ahead of Street consensus EPS estimates of $0.50.
Revenues were up 37% to $8.8 billion, versus $6.4 billion in last year's third quarter. This also exceeded analysts' consensus of $8.67 billion.
During Friday's trading session, ORCL added on another 3.60% to $33.30. The 52-week high in the name is at $34.10, and that seems within reach next week.
Over the last year, ORCL shares have risen around 28%, far outpacing the S&P, despite the company's $168 billion market cap.
