Preliminary Voting Results Indicate Barington Group Victory in Ameron International Proxy Contest

Barington Capital Group, L.P. announced today that the preliminary voting results from the 2011 Annual Meeting of Stockholders of Ameron International Corporation AMN indicate that the Barington Group's nominee -- James A. Mitarotonda -- has been elected to the Board. A preliminary count of the voting results by MacKenzie Partners, Inc., the Barington Group's proxy solicitor, shows that the stockholders of Ameron have overwhelmingly supported the election of Mr. Mitarotonda, with approximately 72.6% of the votes cast voting in favor of his election as a director of the Company.
