U.S. Banks Slammed Again (BAC, JPM, WFC, C)

The financial sector is leading to the downside again on Thursday. Over in Europe, the market learned that Irish Banks need 24 billion Euro in new capital and the shares of Bank of Ireland IRE and Allied Irish Banks AIB have been halted on the New Stock Exchange. American banks are also suffering, and although the Irish situation is far more dire than anything America currently faces, a sovereign debt crisis here is not out of the question - unfortunately. Here is a look at the performance of the major U.S. banks on Thursday. Bank of America BAC has lost 0.74% to $13.35. Citigroup C has shed 0.90% to $4.41. Wells Fargo WFC has lost 0.94% to $31.61. J.P. Morgan JPM is down 0.54% to $46.20.
