Will Netflix Have A Real Competitor Now? (NFLX, DISH)

Shares of Netflix NFLX are down over 1% today, as Dish Network DISH announced it had won the auction for Blockbuster's assets, paying some $320 million for them. Some have speculated that Dish Network could introduce a streaming option to compete with Netflix, which offers a streaming-only subscription amongst its various offerings, for $7.99 per month. Dish Network has not said yet what it would do with the assets, but this is one option. Shares of Netflix are down more than 1% today, after having started trading in higher territory today. The highs on the day were $248.88, and the low of the session was $238.32.
