Fred's March Sales up 0.7%

Fred's Inc. FRED today reported sales for the five-week fiscal month of March, which ended April 2, 2011. Fred's total sales for the month increased 3% to $188.8 million from $183.5 million in March 2010. Comparable store sales for the month rose 0.7% versus an increase of 3.6% in the same period last year.
