Whirlpool Corporation to Close Yakima, Washington Contact Centers

Whirlpool Corporation WHR announced today that due to decreasing call volume it will consolidate its U.S. contact center network, resulting in the closure of its Yakima, Washington contact center, impacting 160 employees. Approximately 50 jobs will be added to each of the company's two remaining U.S. contact centers located in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Cleveland, Tennessee. Whirlpool expects the Yakima facility to close during the second quarter, 2011.
