• Goldman Sachs GS has invested $450.0 million in social networking firm Facebook, and is planning to  invest another $1.5 billion, making the value of the site at about $50 billion

• Bank of America BAC has reported fourth quarter charges of $3 billion on its GSE exposure, and $2 billion in its insurance unit

• Johnson & Johnson JNJ and Boston scientists are planning jointly to bring blood testing of cancer cells to the market

• Barrons has recommended ten big-cap companies which includes the names of Exxon Mobil, XOM, Wal-Mart WMT, Pfizer PFE, JP Morgan JPM, General Motors GM, and Cisco CSCO

• Alcoa AA received a Deutsche Bank DB upgrade to "buy" rating from "hold," with a target price of $22 from $14.

• Boeing BA was upgraded by JP Morgan JPM to "overweight," from "neutral" rating

• Barclays BCS has maintained their "overweight" ranking, but has lowered the target price  from $87 to $80

• Amazon.com AMZN was rated at "overweight" by Morgan Stanley MS, with revenues expected to increase 194% to $100 billion by 2015

• General Motors GM was added as a new "buy" by Goldman Sachs GS with a target price of $43

• Piper Jaffray PJC downgraded shares of Intel INTC from "overweight" to "neutral," with a target price of $21.50

• Citigroup C added Advanced Micro Devices AMD to its Top Picks List

• Teradyne TER shares were removed from Goldman Sachs' Conviction Buy List, but remained at a "buy" rating
