Glu Mobile Soaring Nearly 10% On EA, PopCap Deal

Glu Mobile Inc. GLUU shares are up nearly 10% in pre-market on the back of the acquisition last night of PopCap Games by Electronic Arts ERTS. Electronic Arts paid $650 million in cash plus $100 million in stock & PopCap will have the chance to earn more through a Multi-Year earn out. The maker of games such as Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and Zuma gives Electronic Arts additional exposure to social gaming, as it tries to stay relevant in the gaming world outside of platform gaming. At last check, share of Glu Mobile were up 50 cents to $5.70‎, a gain of 9.62%‎.
