Kimberly-Clark Corp KMB reported a 6.3% drop in its Q3 profit. Kimberly-Clark's quarterly profit declined to $458 million, or $1.09 per share, from $489 million, or $1.14 per share, in the year-ago period. On an adjusted basis, Kimberly-Clark's earnings came in at $1.26 per share. Its net sales came in at $5.38 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.26 per share on sales of $5.29 billion. Caterpillar Inc CAT reported a rise in its Q3 profit on Monday. Caterpillar's quarterly profit rose to $1.14 billion, or $1.71 per share, from $792 million, or $1.22 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue surged to $15.72 billion from $10.45 billion. Excluding one-time items, Caterpillar's earnings came in at $1.93 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.63 per share. Eaton Corp ETN reported a 36% rise in its Q3 earnings. Eaton reported its quarterly profit at $365 million, or $1.07 per share, up from $268 million, or $0.78 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding other items, the company's earnings came in at $1.08 per share, versus the company's target of $1.03 to $1.13 per share. Eaton's sales climbed 15% to $4.12 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $4.18 billion. For the year, Eaton now projects operating profit of $3.95 to $4.05 per share, versus its prior forecast of $3.90 to $4.10 per share. For the current quarter, Eaton projects operating earnings in a range of $1.06 to $1.16 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $1.09 per share. Lorillard Inc LO reported a 2.6% drop in its Q3 net income. Lorillard's quarterly profit dropped to $267 million, from $274 million, in the year-ago period. Its earnings per share gained to $1.94 from $1.81 as shares outstanding dropped 9.6% to 137 million. Lorillard's sales climbed to $1.62 billion from $1.57 billion. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $2.03 per share. VF Corp VFC reported a 24% surge in its Q1 profit. VFC's quarterly profit climbed to $300.7 million, or $2.69 per share, from $242.8 million, or $2.22 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its adjusted profit came in at $2.87 per share. VFC's revenue jumped 23% to $2.75 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $2.57 per share on revenue of $2.61 billion. VFC lifted its 2011 adjusted earnings forecast to $8.15 per share, from $7.50 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $7.88 per share. It also increased its dividend by 14% to $0.72 per share. Bank of Hawaii Corp BOH reported a 1.7% drop in its third-quarter earnings. Bank of Hawaii reported its quarterly profit at $43.3 million, or $0.92 per share, versus $44.1 million, or $0.91 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue dropped 8.7% to $147.6 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.83 per share on revenue of $147 million. Cigna Corp CI reported a 39% rise in its Q2 earnings and lifted its 2011 earnings forecast. Cigna reported its quarterly profit at $408 million, or $1.50 per share, up from $294 million, or $1.06 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding other items, Cigna's earnings came in at $1.53 per share. Its revenue gained 2.9% to $5.51 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings of $1.29 on revenue of $5.32 billion. Cigna lifted its 2011 earnings forecast to $4.95 to $5.25 per share, from its earlier forecast of $4.65 to $5 per share. Invesco Ltd IVZ reported an 8% rise in its third-quarter net income. Invesco reported its quarterly earnings at $166.9 million, or $0.36 per share, up from $154.7 million, or $0.32 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding certain items, Invesco's earnings came in at $0.42 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.41 per share. Its revenue gained 4% to $706.1 million from $681.9 million. Roper Industries Inc ROP reported a rise in its third-quarter profit and lifted its full-year forecast. Roper projects 2011 profit of $4.29 to $4.33 per share, up from its earlier forecast of $4.20 to $4.30 per share. Roper's quarterly net income surged to $110.3 million, or $1.12 per share, from $84.3 million, or $0.87 per share, in the year-ago period. Its sales gained 18% to $712.7 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.08 per share on revenue of $719 million. Landstar System Inc LSTR reported a 45% surge in its Q3 earnings per share and issued upbeat Q4 earnings forecast. Landstar reported its quarterly net income at $30.2 million, or $0.64 per share, up from $21.8 million, or $0.44 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue gained to $684 million from $622.8 million. However, analysts were expecting profit of $0.62 per share on revenue of $679.7 million. TomTom NV TMOAF reported a 53% rise in its Q3 net income. TomTom's quarterly profit surged to 29 million euros, or €0.13 euro per share, from €19 million, or €0.09 euro per share, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted profit per share came in at €0.18. TomTom's revenue dropped to €336 million from €375 million. For the year, TomTom projects adjusted profit of €0.25 to €0.3 euro per share on revenue of €1.23 billion to €1.28 billion. KDDI Corp KDDIY reported a 4.8% rise its net profit for the three months through September. KDDI's net profit for the fiscal second quarter surged to Y68.19 billion, from Y65.05 billion, in the year-ago period. Its operating profit climbed 6.8% to Y126.65 billion, while revenue gained 3.0% to Y878.32 billion from Y852.42 billion. For this fiscal year, KDDI projects a 2% drop in its net profit, a 0.7% rise in its operating profit and a 0.7% rise in its revenue.
